Making Connections: Potential for Classroom Teaching
A few of the mediums we utilized in our assignment could be explored through an entire curriculum. For example, video and sound art fit together nicely as two mediums that could be explored together in a film or stop motion animation class. Conversely, you could explore mediums that one wouldn’t expect people to fit together, and see how students express themselves and come up with new things. Such as scenography and sound art. I could imagine myself exploring sound art with a younger population, exploring how sound connects to visuals, what students feel when they listen to different sounds, and how they can communicate that through their art. They could communicate this through collage in physical form, then exploring it digitally or, depending on the affluence of the school, scanography.
